contractors only a few of the necessary questions. The article explained that to much focus is put on time and cost
instead of experience and workmanship capabilities. Below are the questions the NARI recommends you ask your
contractor.

employees or subcontractors? one of our trained employees. Other trades such as concrete,
electrical, plumbing, etc.. are completed by subcontractors.
How many projects like mine have you Our company has been completing additions, decks and major
completed? renovations for over 15 years. Our company completes several
of these projects every year.
May I have a list of references? Referrals are supplied with every estimate.
How much of your business is referral? Roughly 50% of our business is referral business.
Are you a member of a Trade Association? No, however we do maintain a satisfactory report with the BBB.
Do you have insurance? Yes, An insurance certificate will be provided before any work
commences.
